Michelle Kim

Position: Advisor Geological Low Carbon, Repsol America

Michelle has over 20 years of experience in the E&P industry. She started her career with Daewoo Int’l (a South Korean company, currently Posco Daewoo) and discovered one of the largest commercial discoveries in SE Asia, Shwe in Myanmar. Since then, she has been taking international assignments in Myanmar, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Spain, and the US.

She joined Repsol in 2015 through the Repsol-Talisman merger process. She led the Australia and PNG exploration team and took the Gulf of Mexico Asset manager position in 2019. Currently, she is in charge of developing green venture projects with CCS, blue hydrogen, and geothermal sectors. She is also managing the CCS partnership with Cox Oil in the shallow water Gulf of Mexico. She has a Bachelor's degree in geology and a Master's degree in structural geology from Korea University, South Korea.
