Position: Senior Policy Advisor, Climate & ESG American Petroleum Institute

Marcus is a Senior Policy Advisor for Climate & ESG issues in API’s Corporate Policy group. Marcus helps to guide API climate policy through engagement and consultation with API members and represents industry to policymakers. In addition to working with API’s climate team on overarching climate policy issues, like carbon pricing, Marcus is lead staff on greenhouse gas estimation methodologies for direct emissions; carbon capture, use, and storage issues; the social cost of greenhouse gases; and low-carbon hydrogen policy.

 

Marcus has been with the American Petroleum Institute for more than 15 years, starting in API’s Economic Policy Group. He has worked on issues spanning the full range of the oil and natural gas business including Fuels, Infrastructure and Midstream, Hydraulic Fracturing, Access, Power generation and Tax issues.

 

Marcus holds a bachelor’s degree from the Johns Hopkins University and a Master of Public Policy degree, with a concentration in science, technology, and environmental policy, from the School of Public Affairs at American University.
